In the Name of God

In the following of the discussion on the miracles of the Quran and Islam, we now address to one of the most amazing and astonishing miracles of the Holy Quran that every reader will be amazed by reading it.

As in the beginning of the paper titled Lifetime and Youth of Prophet Mahdi: A science-based reality, not a myth, we mentioned on the website (honest promise) (1), given the widespread attacks of the West towards Islamic countries, the need to defend Islam, the Quran and Shi’ism is felt more than ever, and it is safe to say that rational defense of Islam will be one of the cornerstones of the emergence (God willing).

Fortunately, the science front is the fastest and safest way to attack the West, and Islam’s victory on this war is certain.

Islam is the most logical heavenly religion, and contrary to the claims of Western scholars who view religions and especially Islam as opposed to science and logic, Islam is more than any creed or belief based on science and logic.

In fact, wherever science remains innocent and immune from the stigma of private preference and the intrigue and seduction of anti-religious scholars, it is completely in line with the teachings of Islam. Discussions such as evolution, cited by Western scholars as the weakness of Islam, are no more lies and conspiracies, and are a trick that the Masons have used to fight religions.

Interestingly, the grandfather of Charles Robert Darwin, the founder of the theory of evolution, called Erasmus Darwin, who, like his grandson, was a biologist, (2) held the position of Supreme Professor of one of the British lodges (3) and he was who first put the idea of evolution theory into his grandson’s mind. In fact, before his famous grandson Charles Robert Darwin developed the theory of evolution, Erasmus Darwin developed the first ideas of the theory of evolution (4) in his book titled Zoonomia (4). Sequence dropped its name as one of the pioneers of evolutionary theory (5). He thus introduced himself as one of the pioneers of the theory of evolution (5).

But fortunately nowadays, with the discoveries of the new sciences, day by day, on the lies and conspiracies of evolution theory, as evidenced in its present form, are confirmed which unfortunately by the hypocritical move of many materialist authors in medical and biology books, these facts are not stated. But god willing, these facts will appear in future papers to the readers of the website. It should be noted that the author of the paper is studying for a higher education degree in one of the biological sciences and is aware of what he/she is saying.

Considering the material presented, we decided to look at another of the great scientific miracles of the Quran, which is stated in the science of pathology, and examine the dimensions of this great divine miracle, to find the majesty of God Almighty by studying this miracle.

After the introduction, we present the original paper for you.

Quran, Immortal Miracle: Sura of Nisa and the Miracle in Pathology.

The Quran is the words of God and the highest book ever revealed to the earth. This great book can hardly be called the complete plan of human life because in addition to teaching educational, ethical and religious issues, precious scientific information also lies within this holy book, which these informations will discove with the divine power and the advent of the great commentator of the Holy Quran, Imam Mahdi.

Sura of Nisa is the fourth sura of the Holy Quran and is one of the Medina suras. Although this sura is called the Nisa Sura because of its many debates about women’s laws and rights, (6) but in addition to its verses, there are some amazing things and wonders in the natural sciences.

In verse 56 of the Sura of Nisaa, God Almighty has exalted power and revealed one of his great miracles.

Verse 56 of Nisaa says:

Those who disbelieve in our verses, we will soon bring them into a fire, whenever their skin is burnt and burned, and we will put other skins in place to taste the punishment. Allah is All-Mighty (The God punish on the basis of justice).

As you have seen, in verse 56 of Nisa, God Almighty states how to punish the unbelievers on the Day of Judgment. But in this verse, what are the miracles of the natural sciences?

In order to better understand the miracles in this verse, we must first of all examine the structure of the human skin from a histological and pathological point of view, because the Almighty God also refers to burnt the skin of the disbelievers in the Sura of Nisa.

According to the discoveries made in the histology and pathology, the skin of the human body is made up of three main layers, which these three layers from outside to the inside are (7):

  1. Epidermis
  2. Derm
  3. Hypoderm

Each of the above three layers also consists of smaller components (8):

1- Epidermal layer components: The layers of the epidermis from outside to the inside are (9):

  1. Stratum comeum layer (outermost layer).
  2. Stratum lucidum layer
  3. Stratum granulosum layer
  4. Stratum apinosum layer
  5. Stratum basale layer
  6. Basement membrane

These six layers are the constituents of the epidermis. On the other hand, in addition to the aforementioned layers, pigmented melanocyte cells that are responsible for producing different skin colors are also found scattered between the stratum comeum and stratum basale layer cells (10).

2- Components of the dermis layer: The dermis layer consists of two main layers, which from outside to the inside are (11):

  1. Dermal papilla
  2. Dermal reticular

The different layers of the dermis are very similar. Across the dermis, there are vessels (arteries, veins, and capillaries), immune cells, nerve endings, sweat glands, and collagen and elastic fibers (elastic scaffolds of the skin) (12).

3- Different layers of the hypoderm: The hypodermis is a type of loose connective tissue that contains fat cells and attaches the skin to the lower organs (13).

Note: Hair is one of the most common skin lesions in some parts of the body, including the head, back of the arms and forearms, large parts of the lower limbs, abdomen and back, face and pubes area and armpits and groin. Hair has a special structure whereby part of the epidermis penetrates into the dermal layers and forms a cavity called the follicle (14). In order to avoid further contents, further explanation will be omitted.

Different layers of skin (Hypodermis not seen in this image)

The nerves in the skin have a complex structure, particularly the sensory system of the skin itself has a variety of parts that include (15):

  1. Touch sense-related endings.
  2. Pressure sense-related endings.
  1. Heat and cold sense-related endings.
  2. Pain sense-related endings

Touch and pressure sense-related endings are enclosed in capsules of connective tissue which the set of endings and their capsules are called Pacinian and Meissner, lattices, respectively. That is, touch and pressure sense-related endings are called the Meissner lattice (16). Touch and pressure sense-related endings exist only in the dermis layer (17).

Heat and cold and pain-related receptors are free nerve endings and do not have capsules (18). According to recent findings, free nerve endings, in addition to sense of heat, cold and pain, ability to sense touch and pressure (19). These receptors are present in the lower layers of the epidermis in addition to the dermis.

Sensory nerve endings of the skin. Free nerve endings are responsible for the pain.

Free nerve endings. Note that the free nerve endings, in addition to the dermis, extend to the epidermis.

Heat and cold and pain-related receptors have an important role in understanding heat and cold and pain, which helps protect the body against damage (21). Thus, when the skin exposed to very hot or very cold objects, as well as painful objects, these sensory receptors alert the body to the danger posed, leading to the body’s reaction and avoidance of hazards.

‌But what does the explanations given regarding the histological structure of the skin have to do with the miracle of Nisa Sura?

Before continuing the discussion, let’s look again at verse 56 of Nisa:

Those who disbelieve in our verses, we will soon bring them into a fire, whenever their skin is frayed and burned, and we will put other skins in place to taste the punishment. Allah is All-Mighty (The God punish on the basis of justice)

According to this verse, we find that God Almighty considers the skin of the body of disbelievers as the doom of hell. It says: Soon we will put them in a fire that, whenever their skin is burnt, we will put other skins in place to taste the divine punishment.

In fact, in the Arabic text of verse 56 of the Nisa sura, there is the phrase of taste which indicates that God stated the reason for replacing the skin of the disbelievers at the resurrection for tasting divine retribution. In other words, it is clear from the text of the verse that according to the God’s instruction, the factor to understand the torment of hell fire is the skin of the body, and God replaces the skin repeatedly until their skin is burned and charcoal burned, a little bit of the suffering of the disbelievers will be reduced.

This words of God and the logic mentioned in the verse above correspond quite precisely to the discoveries made in the science of pathology and histology. According to discoveries in pathology and histology, heat and cold and pain-related receptors are scattered in the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin (22). Note that if excessive heat or painful stimuli are introduced into the body, the heat and pain nerve endings scattered in the epidermis and dermis receive these heat and pain stimuli and transmit them to the brain, and alert the body to these dangers and the body also reacts to them. If, for any reason, these nerve endings are damaged or absent, even if severe thermal damage is inflicted on the body, the body cannot sense them and respond to them. In fact, if a person’s skin is removed for any reason, he/she may not feel the heat or pain from the needle in an area that does not have skin. That’s why in burns that damage the skin of the body, being painful or painless of the burn organs can show the severity of the burn and the depth of the injury.

Different grading systems are available to determine the severity and extent of skin burns. Some medical sources, for example, classify burns into three degrees, some into four degrees, and some into five degrees; but all of these burn grading systems have a common basis. Schwartz’s Surgery Book, for example, has divided burns into four degrees, which the second-degree itself divided into two groups.

‌ According to Schwartz’s book, burns are divided into the following types (23):

1- First-degree burn (Epidermal burn): This burn involves only the epidermis layer and causes superficial redness and skin irritation and the patient experiences a great deal of pain (24). The reason for the patient’s perception of pain is that in this type of burn, the nerve endings are healthy and convey the pain of the skin to the patient’s brain.

2- Second-degree burns: These burns are divided into two subgroups (25) including:

A- Superficial partial thickness burn

B- Deep partial thickness burn

A- Superficial partial thickness burn: In this type of burn, the upper layers of the dermis (Dermal papilla) and epidermis were damaged and the skin blisters. If the blister is removed, the pink, damp wound will appear and passing through it causes pain (26). This type of burn wound causes severe pain because the heat and pain-related nerve endings in the dermis are still healthy and still have a number of branches, they can therefore convey the sensory message of heat and pain to the brain (27).

B- Deep partial thickness burn: In this type of burn, in addition to the epidermis, the superficial (papilla) and deeper (reticular) layers of the dermis are damaged by the burn and there is blistering. In this type of burn, the wound is lattice white and pink. The patient does not feel much pain as a result of this type of burn, but only feels unwell (28). The reason the patient does not understand pain in this type of burn is that due to epidermal damage and important parts of the dermis, all the heat and pain sense-related nerve endings have been destroyed and are unable to convey the message of thermal injury and pain to the brain; therefore, despite the more severe injury, the patient does not complain of much pain (29).

3- Third-degree burn (full thickness burn): In this type of burn, all layers of the dermis, plus the epidermis, are caught and the severity of the injury increases. In this case the burn facade is white, cherry red, or black, and deep blisters may also be seen (30). There is little pain or sensitivity to this type of burn (31) because of the loss of all nerve endings associated with heat and pain transmission (32).

4- Fourth-degree burns: In this type of burns, which are very severe and result in very serious injuries to the body, in addition to damaging all layers of the skin including the epidermis and dermis, the hypodermis (subcutaneous fat) and deeper structures including nerves, muscles and viscera are also involved, and burns have a charcoal appearance (33). In this type of burn, if the underlying tissues are not nerve-filled tissues such as the peritoneum (abdominal area), the patient will not feel much pain again because the pain and heatrelated nerve endings are gone.

According to another classification of burn wounds, these wounds are divided into three main groups (34) including:

1- First-degree burns: These burns include the outermost layer of the skin called the epidermis, and the burn wound is red, swollen and painful; these burns usually do not have blisters (35).

2- Second-degree burn: In this type of burn, the severity of the injury is greater and in addition to the epidermis, the dermis layer is involved. These wounds are very painful and have a pink, damp, and soft appearance. In this type of burn, blisters also occur. In second-degree burns, the patient continues to feel pain due to the presence of a number of pain and heat-related endings (36).

3- Third degree burns: In this type of burn, deeper layers of the skin are involved and in addition to the epidermis and dermis, the hypodermis layer also disappears and in addition to these layers, adipose tissue, large nerves, muscles, and bones may also be damaged. The appearance of these wounds is white and not painful, because the pain and heat sense-related nerve endings have been completely destroyed (37).

Grading of burns. (The more the intensity and depth of the burn, the less pain)

Grading of burns (The more the intensity and depth of the burn, the less pain).

Despite the apparent differences in the above classifications, there are important and serious similarities between these classifications. Thus, according to both classifications, as the severity of burns increases, the severity of the patient’s pain decreases. Because the deeper the burn, the nerve endings transmitting pain and heat also become damaged, and the body is unable to transmit the message from these injuries to the brain.

The contents described above clearly confirms the Quran viewpoint in verse 56 of the Sura of Nisa. Because, according to the Quran, as well as scientific discoveries, it is human skin that transmits pain of the extreme heat and pain caused by burns to the brain, and the person perceives and feels this suffering. For this reason, in the world hereafter, where the resurrection takes place both spiritually and physically (simultaneously), in order to exacerbate the physical torment of the disbelievers in addition to the spiritual torment, whenever the skin of their bodies be severely damaged by the agony of hell fire, the skin should be re-grew to feel the torment and agony of the fire, and the pain that comes with it, and not to diminish a bit of their torment. In fact, if the skin of the disbelievers were not renewed, their physical torment in hell would not have been so severe. Because after their first burn, their bodies no longer had the means to understand the pain and heat. Thus, God showed His wisdom by saying that in order to appease the doom of hell to the unbelievers, many times grow the skin on their bodies, and 1400 years ago, even when there was no means, not even a microscope, it has made a very accurate prediction of a scientific fact.

Verse 56 of Nisa sura reveals a very great scientific fact. Since the Holy Quran was revealed 1400 years ago, in the dry land of the Saudi Arabia, at the heart of a Prophet (38). There is no doubt that this beloved book has been sent down by awise God to the heart of His/her righteous servant. For an uneducated man, in a society such as Saudi Arabia that day, and in the absence of advanced instruments such as a microscope, could not unravel such a great scientific mystery with such precision.

In fact, verse 56 of the Nisa Sura is one of the most important documents that can be used against the unbelievers and polytheists to prove the truth of Islam to the world. It is hoped that such scientific discoveries will guide the ignorant and ignorant humanity to the divine values.

In the end, we ask God Almighty to speed up the emergence of the Messenger of the Humanity of Imam Mahdi as soon as possible, through his endless observance and valuable guidance, to accelerate human society towards the ideal society in which ethics, science, religion and culture are at the height of perfection.

Hoping for the coming saviour messenger, al-Mahdi
